Dream Grower

Dream Grower

By guest writer Selina M. Almodovar

I started my business and life was going great. All of a sudden, life became grand; blogs were placed on the backburner and workshops were sent into the following season. Work wasn’t getting done, but I was convinced that sooner or later the business would come along. Boy was I wrong! As a professional who was already working a full-time job, I slowly watched my once world-changing-mega-dream shape into what could have been deemed a high-priced hobby. For a while, I was perfectly okay with that. Bills were getting paid, but my business wasn’t going anywhere.

That’s just it. My business was going nowhere. While I had accepted that and carried on with life – adjusting to marriage, moving to a new neighborhood, and even gaining more hours with my full-time job – it just wasn’t enough. Once the dream seed had been planted, it was pretty hard to sit back and NOT allow it to grow. As the days went by, I began to feel unhappy with how things were going. I was reminded of a time in my life when I was not satisfied with my career because I had wanted something more. That something was Well Said Living. Creating my very own Personal Health Coaching business for women seeking balance was the thought that brought me pure and utter joy! Discovering this was like finding the answer to all of my riddles. My purpose, my existence, and my future rested in this one tiny seed. If that was the way I felt, then what the heck was I doing not watering it and allowing it to grow?!

It suddenly dawned on me that I had to get my hustle on! The goal was not to create an awesome idea…the goal is to have this awesome idea come to life! Day by day, I have set the intention to do at least one thing towards establishing my business. Whether it’s writing one paragraph for an Article, leaving one business card at a coffee shop, or design my newsletter, I make the effort to do what I can, when I can. The bigger my business gets, the more opportunities become available to nurture its development. Now isn’t that how it seems to always go? If you set out to do what is in your heart to do, then all the pieces will fall into place. It’s not up to you to make the seed grow…it grows all on its own! My part was to water it, and doing so a little each day is what allows me to keep my business in the forefront!
